Autumn colours

Since posting a couple of weeks back, I’ve been wondering how I am going to update this personal diary. The choice has been, just to schedule the past couple of years in order over the coming months and jumping right to the present. I have noticed that a few professional YouTubers are several months behind in their posting. Some do it for safety, as not to reveal their current location which I can appreciate.

One of the points of my writers’ block, has probably been the stress of being in real time, because this has been a way to keep our parents informed of our whereabouts. Now that I haven’t written for a couple of years, I have noticed that this hasn’t been so critical and more of a personal journal of relevant events. It might even be, that somewhere along the line, I might branch back towards my first blog. That was a collection of pondering over different issues pertaining to ethics, values, life and such.

So, I don’t have to write in real time, cool. Over the coming months, pictures and short stories of the past two years will be popping out weekly. In between, you might find some pretty current posts, like this one. At some point next year, our sailing adventures might be delayed by only a few weeks, not years. And the stories might become more informative.

After the summer of 2023, I found an appetite for photography again. I have watched many hours of YouTube videos from different photography pros and have found several points of improvement. And it only takes a lot of practice. I cannot fault my equipment. For my needs, I believe I have an excellent camera, Nikon D5600 which is an entry level DSLR. I do dream of a new one. One with stabilisation. But that would require an investment I cannot accept or justify. Other things have to improve first. My preferred lens at the moment is a 35 mm f1.8 prime. According to all reviews I’ve found, it is one of the best around, and the best in its’s price range.

So, here are some of my shots on a Sunday walk in the fall of 2023.
