We needed to take a quick visit to the in-laws before the summer season started. During the sailing season, a five hour trip inland, by car, is definitely not an option. Remote work is quite convenient with fibre optic internet. At the same time it was also convenient to host the big five-0 party that was postponed due to covid.
Mid March is absolutely wonderful in central Finland. Sunshine and mostly nice weather during the days and quite cold at night keeping the snow hard enough to walk on the following day. The dogs definitely enjoyed the afternoon walks and running around freely.

With the clear and chilly spring night, the stars were out and shining brightly. Out here there is no light pollution, so it was a great chance to practice night and sky photography. Some pictures even turned out quite spectacular and artsy.

This is the wilderness, and you can see all kinds of wild animals. Someone I don’t particularly wish to meet is the wolf. After finding these prints and faces and scouring the internet, I concluded that a wolf truly has been running in the backyard.. Official reports also indicated sightings not too far away. Lucky think everything has appeared during the nights.
