Barcelona

It’s been a while since my last post. Even though I have a list o f ideas, I just can’t seem to find the time for an update. Bedtime seems to be early in the morning on a long weekend get away.

So, off to Barcelona for a “quickie”.

First order of business, La Sagrada Familia. Waiting for our entry time, we stumbled on some serious petanque players.

La Sagrada Familia

What can one say the than WOW! The building is an absolute masterpiece. This is actually the first time I’m not bothered by building scaffolding. I think it’s just the knowledge of the fact that they are always going to be there. I know they’re planning on completion for 2026, but let’s just wait and see.

What I found most fascinating was the windows and lighting. Yes, the façade sculptures are cool and I got to continue my facial expression-theme from Rome, but capturing the light is a new challenge.

The morning was sunny but windy, so our trip up to the Nativity Tower was cancelled. What a bummer! I was quite disappointed, you just have to roll with the punches. I think the reflections on the organ pipes actually cover the disappointment.

With such a beautiful sunny day ahead, we set off to search for the next Gaudí buildings.
