After being away for three months, we had some things to do at home. So we only got a few weekends of sailing before it was time for the winter chores.

We thought we had planned well. We hadn’t accounted for the weather. It had been pretty bad, and on the Saturday morning we were to lift her up, the wind was OK, but the river had risen about a meter. One should have had wading pants on, since even tall wellies weren’t enough. We were the only boat lifted during the weekend. After she was up, the water kept rising, and at one point I joked that soon we can push her out without a crane. Cold and wet. That’s Finland for you.
